Marjirdi – finalist in Fist Full of Films Festival

Marjirdi is a story of contact between yapa (Aboriginal) and kardiya (non-Aboriginal) and the different uses to which a tent is put. Told by Henry Jakamarra Cook of Lajamanu this animation is a combination of video footage and stop motion animation.

Marjirdi was created as part of the training program for PAW Media worker Jason Japaljarri Woods. Jason worked with trainer Ben Rayner to create a funny and effective animation of Henry’s story.

Marjirdi was selected as a finalist in the NT’s Fist Full of Films Festival in June 2010.
