Awards at the 12th Remote Media Festival

The 12th Remote Media Festival was held at Thursday Island from 11th-15th October. It brought together remote Indigenous media workers from across Australia to celebrate the strength of culture and language and to look at and listen to the media that demonstrates that strength. PAW invited to submit animations to Czech animation festival

PAW has been invited to submit three animations - Topsy's Story, My name is Danny and Willowra Wardilyka -  to the PAF Olomouc Animation Festival in the Czech Republic. The theme for the Festival is animations from colonised countries. We're working in getting the films ready for submission. Keep checking us out to see how we go.


Animations a hit at Sydney International Animation Festival

Sydney International Animation Festival

PAW Media has been invited to be part of the Sydney International Animation Film Festival that will be held in Sydney in late September. Jason Japaljarri Woods and David Slowo of PAW Media will be presenting the work done through the Animating Jukurrpa project and talking about the different styles and stories that have been used for the project.


Marjirdi – finalist in Fist Full of Films Festival

Marjirdi is a story of contact between yapa (Aboriginal) and kardiya (non-Aboriginal) and the different uses to which a tent is put. Told by Henry Jakamarra Cook of Lajamanu this animation is a combination of video footage and stop motion animation.
